Development in research with new ways of alternative treatments are being used for the different types of depression. The response to any form of light therapy usually will show results in about two to four days, but extensive disorders such as depression may take up to three weeks.

There are of course other forms of natural treatment for depression. A natural cure for depression is one that doesn’t rely on prescription medications as a solution. Relaxation techniques, dietary changes, vitamins and supplements are a few other methods. Water is a common chemical substance that is essential for the survival of all known forms of life. In typical usage, water refers only to its liquid form or state, but the substance also has a solid state, ice, and a gaseous state, water vapor. About 1.460 petatonnes (Pt) of water covers 71% of the Earth’s surface, mostly in oceans and other large water bodies, with 1.6% of water below ground in aquifers and 0.001% in the air as vapor, clouds (formed of solid and liquid water particles suspended in air), and precipitation.  Saltwater oceans hold 97% of surface water, glaciers and polar ice caps 2.4%, and other land surface water such as rivers, lakes and ponds 0.6%. Quite a few of the Earth’s water is contained in biological bodies,water towers, manufactured products, and food stores. Other water is trapped in ice caps, glaciers, aquifers, or in lakes, sometimes providing fresh water for life on land.

Sometimes plain old water gets boring, and adding some flavoring can help you drink more. You can buy flavored water, of course, but I think it’s one of the most overpriced things in the store. Here are some ideas for drinking fluids that don’t include adding a bunch of sugar, or cost a bunch of money.

If you wish to stay far from the artificial additives and caffeine, you can mix some flavor to your water using the natural way:
• A twist of lemon or lime (or a little juice)
• A small piece of fruit
• A little unsweetened cranberry concentrate (look in health food stores)
• A cucumber slice (subtle, however refreshing)
• A mint leaf or two (“bruise” them a little to release the flavor
If you don’t mind some artificial sweetener or other additives, try adding:
• A little diet cranberry juice (not “light”, but “diet” — the light kind has more sugar)
• Crystal Light, Unsweetened Kool-Aid, or other sugar-free drink mix (but check carefully for hidden carbs in some)
• Make a limeade or lemonade by adding some juice (1 gram of carb per tablespoon) and sweetener
• Any of the above flavorings can be added to plain club soda, seltzer water, or diet tonic water.
• Buy flavored sparkling waters at the store.

You should replace milk and soda with water to drink when you are thirsty, but do not force yourself to drink water. Overhydration can cause cramps while exercising!

Buy a Pur filter for your tap water if you don’t like regular! It cleans out germs & makes it taste more fresh. You can also buy flavors for them like peach, strawberry, or raspberry to make your tap water fruity when desired.

Aquafina has a product called FlavorSplash. FlavorSplash is a product that makes water fruit-flavored. Try this if you don’t like tap water!

One creative way to make water more thirst-quenching is by combining a teaspoon of honey with a Tablespoon of apple-cider vinegar and just enough hot water to melt to the honey. Stir well and add enough water to make a gallon. Chill it and enjoy after that! (There are many experts who recommend apple-cider vinegar for over-all health.)

Inverted Yoga

Inverted yoga reverses the action of gravity on the body. The biggest changes when performing Inverted Yoga is due to the circulation. In inverted poses, legs and abdomen are placed higher than the heart.

Once you know the signs of a heart attack, you may be able to save a life because of your quick recognition and resulting action in the emergency.  The signs of a heart attack may be different for men and women although the types of heart attacks for both genders are the same.

You may feel a squeezing or gripping pain in your chest or you could feel a pressure or sense of fullness in your chest that is extremely uncomfortable or painful for you.A pain or discomfort may return after it has stopped for a while.

A heart attack should be treated in the first hour after the attack has occurred because this can reduce further damage to the heart.  The faster the time in which a person can receive medical help, the higher their chances will be of surviving the heart attack and preventing further damage to their heart.The first hour is critical when noticing a heart attack as it can kill a person within that same hour if medical help is not sought. 

At the first signs of a heart attack, call 911 or your emergency number.  Do not wait longer than five minutes before making the emergency call for help.  If you go in your own car, you may not be seen right away so use an emergency vehicle for your arrival at the hospital although it may not always be possible to receive a ride in an ambulance to the hospital. 

Even if the symptoms have stopped after a few minutes, you must notify your doctor.If going to the hospital after a heart attack, take all your medications that you are current taking with you.  You may place an aspirin under your tongue as a measure for thinning your blood in the case of a blood clot. 

Time is valuable and it should not be wasted after the signs of a heart attack are recognized.  Seeking medical help quickly and arriving at the hospital through the services of an ambulance will be your best bet at receiving medical attention in a timely way.

Stretching Tips To Avoid Injury

Before fitness strength training, one must give importance to doing warm-up or stretching exercises to prevent accidents or to enhance the output during the training.  There are also a number of precautionary measures and tips to serve as guidelines when doing fitness exercises.Here are your options.

1.  To increase your flexibility and to avoid injuries, stretch before and after a running workout.Almost everyone knows that stretching before workout prevents injuries during the exercises, but only few people know that stretching after workout, when muscles are still warm, can increase flexibility.

2.  Hold your stretching position for more than 60 seconds to increase flexibility.  While holding your position for 20 seconds is enough for warm ups, holding each position for at least 60 seconds will develop the body’s flexibility.

3.  Do not repeatedly stretch then immediately drop to the relaxed position.  This is more appropriately termed as bouncing while in a position.When stretching, hold that position for several seconds, and then slowly relax.  You may do this exercise repeatedly this way.  Bouncing or forcing yourself into a position during stretching can strain or damage some joints or muscles.

4.  Work slowly in increments instead of immediately proceeding to doing the hardest exercise or position.

5.  Make sure that you have stretched or warmed up all muscle groups.For some people, even if they have strong bodies, they tend to neglect the neck when working out.  Stretching the neck muscles can be as simple as placing the palm of one’s hand against the front of the head and pushing it.Then, do the same to the sides and the back of the head.

6.  Stretch regularly to continually increase your range of movements and your level of flexibility and strength.

7.  Exercise while only considering what you’re capable of, and not of what others can achieve.Don’t try to perform an exercise that you know are not capable of starting or finishing just because some others can do it.Slowly increase your limit.Don’t ignore your body.There are days when your body may be too tired that you may have to consider reducing your range of motion.

8.  Learn to rest.  Rest in between sets and stations to make sure that the body has enough time to recover its energy.Also, it is advisable that you don’t work the same muscle groups consecutively for two days.The muscles grow during the period when you rest and not when you are working out.

9.  Do aerobic exercises to strengthen your heart.An aerobics workout takes up the most oxygen.This includes cardiovascular exercises such as skipping rope, running or swimming.

10.  Music may help you when you want to train for longer periods or to increase your intensity.Your options are CD players, mp3 players, or strap arm radios for this purpose.Wear a headset so others are not disturbed by music while exercising.

From the obvious reasons of preventing injuries, stretching can also be used as a relaxant for the mind and body.

What to do if you find damp in your home

It’s common knowledge that damp conditions in the home or workplace can cause all sorts of problems not only with the structure of the building, but also with the health of its occupants.
